Cardiomyopathy, a heart muscle condition, reduces the organ’s ability to pump blood and oxygen throughout the body. It often leads to heart failure, a serious but treatable condition in which the heart does not pump enough blood to meet the needs of the rest of the body.
At ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Heart Failure Advanced Care Center and Heart Rhythm Center, our specialists work together to provide personalized care for people with cardiomyopathy and heart failure. They include cardiologists, heart surgeons, nurse practitioners, and electrophysiologists, who specialize in heart rhythm disorders. Our doctors also collaborate closely with other specialists across ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ, including pulmonologists, who specialize in lung function, and rehabilitation specialists at Rusk Rehabilitation.
Treatment for cardiomyopathy and heart failure may include lifestyle changes, medication, cardiac device implantation, or surgery.
